About
Excellence Medicare is an independent brokerage loyal to the client, not to a specific insurance company. The standard is simple: treat people the way you would want to be treated (Matthew 7:12).
We sit with households who are tired of commercials, telemarketer calls, billboards, and a mailbox full of mail they do not know how to interpret — or what of it is right for them. The first job is understanding. The second job is a recommendation that fits — protecting health and protecting what has been saved for retirement and your legacy.
You should feel comfortable working with the team, including the people who help with the annual review. Most of the ongoing contact is that yearly checkup. You are always welcome to reach out during the year when something comes up.

Meet the team
Medicare Specialist & Founder
Don has specialized in Medicare for more than 12 years. He helps people protect their health and what they have saved for retirement — by putting the right coverage in place for their situation, not by handing them a product.
Clients usually meet Don on the first call and when coverage is set up. He also does annual reviews as available. Day-to-day questions are handled by the team, with Don brought in when the question needs him.
Excellence Medicare takes its name from that standard. Don is a minister outside the business, and the practice is built on Colossians 3:23: do all things heartily, as to the Lord. The recommendation has to be the one he can stand behind. What he has seen is that many financial professionals do not understand how Medicare affects a retirement plan, and many Medicare salespeople are only trying to place a product. Clients refer him because he told them the truth about what fit, and why it is best for them.
Don and his wife Rebecca have been married 13+ years. They have two sons — one aiming at the NBA, the other at becoming the next Bruce Lee. He volunteers as a small group leader for teens at GT Church in Reading. Outside the office he is an adventurer: mountain biking, snorkeling, backpacking, rock climbing, and car racing.
Client Relations
Darius works with Don and clients throughout the year. He handles annual reviews and the questions that come in between them. In the review he walks clients through what changed in Medicare, looks at their prescriptions, and helps them see the cost of their options for the following year so they can decide what still fits.
He has spent more than 14 years in customer service for a global company in the teledata industry, working with VIP clients and fixing the problems that come up. That background shows up in how he treats people: he is good with them, he cares about helping them, and he makes sure they understand what matters to their costs before any decision is made. He and Don have been friends for more than 12 years and worked together in another business for about five years. As the practice grows, so does his role with it.
Darius lives in South Carolina. He is a seasoned traveler who prioritizes weekly family days. He also plays competitive cornhole, which has given him a local community and a second family.
Client Relations
Miguel handles annual reviews and client emails throughout the year. He has been with Excellence Medicare for just over a year. He cares about people, and the yearly review is where that shows up — making sure coverage still fits as Medicare and a client’s situation change.
Miguel is from Allentown, Pennsylvania. He moved to Prague, Czechia, on January 1, 2025, after a missions trip the summer before and a clear sense that he was supposed to go back. He serves as a missionary there and was recently named assistant to the pastor at Destiny Church in Prague. He and Don became friends while working together in another business for four years. Don discipled him, and Miguel eventually felt the call into ministry.
